We woke to the best view you can get from the back of a van. The sunshine and mist rolling off the mountains to the valley below.
Amelie was sleeping for England so we all got out of the van so we didn't wake her. I went to the spring to wash the sleep from my eyes and felt alive again.
When she finally woke we had some cornflakes then drove a little way up the hill to another, better play area in the woods.
Now this would've been even better parking spot. The kids play on the hoops, Amelie said it "was the best play park EVER, can we come back?" but we had to move on, after a drive down what turned out to be a path we headed for Molveno.
The camp site was packed but having arrived early we got a spot, next to the park and amenities and a short walk from the beach. Stony beach and clear water = happy Edward. They swam and played then got Rich's board & played some more.
They practised surfing while Rich pushed them away and pulled them back.
First time we actually spent a day lazing on a beach in the sun - Absolute heaven, with the Dolomites looming in the background holding onto the storm clouds which never did make it to the beach.
No gas meant cold dinner, bread ham and cheese (with some nutella & crisps on the side!)
Evening of Uno and drawing, very relaxing.
